Position:  Meat Cutter Assistant                               

Hours: 32-40 Hours Per Week

Schedule: 4-5 days/week

Pay scale: $12.00 to $15.00/hr

Job description: 

Provides superior customer service.Prepares cuts and wraps/seals meat products in accordance with DTL guidelines on merchandise presentation, safety, sanitation, customer service and suggestive selling. Orders, cuts, stocks, and helps with displays for all fresh meat, fish, poultry. Provide customers with assistance in identifying and selecting products and provide information on preparation and nutritional content. Uses professional cutlery, saws, sealer, and grinders to process bulk meat, assist in monthly inventory and other duties as required. 


            The ideal candidate must have demonstrated excellent communication and leadership skills and possess basic math skills for inventory; along with a working knowledge of Hobart scale and Coop philosophy/missions. It will be a must for this position to be filled by someone with strong independent organization skills, time management, and prioritization skills. The Meat Cutter position will require demonstrated multi-tasking skills. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated. Excellent people skills are required for all positions within The CO-OP Market. This job requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects. Weekend, evening and holiday work will be required in the position. Minimum age for employment is 18.
